Conductor & Soprano Yael Cherni is founder and former director of the “Kan Kol Hamusica” radio station, the only Israeli radio station dedicated to classical music in Israel. Ms. Cherni has performed as a conductor and soprano all over the world, including serving as assistant conductor to Maestro Claudio Abbado. She has also joined the academic staff of Broadcast University, hosted by Galei Tzahal (Israeli radio) and Tel Aviv Universiry, where in a series of lectures called It's all about the classics she provides tools for critical listening, and for the first time explores the more arcane and less frequently treated connections between music and sociology. As usual, Yael accompanies her lectures with her own singing and piano playing. It is the first time in several decades that a national mainstream radio has hosted series of lectures dedicated to music . This innovative course received high ratings and favorable critical attention.
Her first book "It's All about the Classics": An Updated View on the World of Classical Music, was based on that praised series and was published in Israel in 2016 by Modan. Her new book “Classical Music: Undressed” dedicated to “Anyone who appreciates the beauty of art” was recently published and available on Amazon.
